I thought part two had more of the old feeling, despite the change in setting. My take on that: the cast needs a set. Performing against a green screen (as in part one) just isn't their thing. I also think the show suffers by not having a laugh track. Despite that, it's Red Dwarf, and I'm looking forward to part three.

Ahem. Well, there are ways.

Part 3 had some funny bits (the tributes were nice), but I wasn't pleased with the overall story. "Back to Reality" was much better. Anyhow, I'm sure I'll buy it on DVD when it hits the US--I want more Red Dwarf, good or bad--but I hope they're given the opportunity (if they want it) to do a new series.

Was there a 9th season or some kind of movie in between "the End?" and this?

"The End?" The first episode of the first series? ;-) But seriously, no, that was just a plot device (and an inside joke). No ninth series. www.reddwarf.co.uk has some background on this and the possibility of a "tenth" series.
