Poseidon's mouse support works beautifully (I use a logitech wheel mouse optical connected by USB all the time on my A3000) but it doesn't support the mouse wheel yet. Any USB mouse you connect acts like a simple two or three button mouse.
One interesting point is that I found the same mouse is much smoother connected via USB rather than through a PS/2 adaptor, I think this is due to USB using a higher "sample rate" (not sure of the correct term).
I believe that Chris Hodges (author of Poseidon) is working on full Human Interface Device drivers which should support more features such as mouse wheels and "multimedia" keyboard buttons.
