From experience, most CRT monitors die because of the high voltage regulator. It starts with an annoying high pitched sound. Other then that I'm clueless, older CRT's are rock solid and fixable, unlike their tft counterparts.

Plaz is right, however, ITS DEADLY. Not can be deadly.

Let someone in the knowledge fix it. Don't try it at home!

In my country it's placed around the power entry, or even in the computer itself.
