You need a scandoubler since the Amiga 2000 outputs at 15khz (unless you have a gfx card but then you won't see the native modes)

No, a Toaster is only useful for videoproduction, not for showing the Workbench on a VGA monitor. Besides, the toaster also outputs 15khz...
