I'm in a neighbouring county to London (Essex), which may well play host to certain events and of course, bill it's residents accordingly.
Cynicism aside, I deliberately avoided any nose-thumbing in the direction of Paris. I personally have nothing against France, but I was a little miffed at Mons. Chirac's comments about British cuisine - has he not eaten at a Greasy Spoon cafe before?

I sincerely hope he's served with pie 'n mash at the G8 summit, together with an excellent bottle of English wine.
