I've read this before courtesy of Cecila...

The fact that Britain is Euro skeptic and has been in league with the US speaks volumes.  We have a political desire to preserve the Pound and securing the oil and energy reserves outside of the Euro net means that the US economy is saved from currency collapse.

It's frankly disgusting that we've gone to war over the dollar and oil, and that Britain's own leaders have been only too keen to join a war that 90% of the British voters opposed.  

I like to think I believe very strongly in the ideological values with which the US was conceived, however it is ironic that the world's greatest democracy has turned very dark of late.  It's not as if I can turn the other cheek and say "not in my back yard" as Britain has now damned itself by allying with a US clearly bent on acquisition of foreign power by illicit means.

I'm ashamed to be British.
