The manual says one socket is a ROM socket and the other EPROM. You can use your own custom kickstarts in the EPROM. In this instance any kickstart chip from the A500/A2000 should work in the ROM socket.

The board now takes both of the ECS 2mb Agnus chips (A500+/A3000). The board can run kickstart 3.1 with no issues or your own customised kickstarts. A clockport could be added, there's a couple of places it could be taken from. His schematics are fantastic. You could build your own Amiga design with them. The A600 IDE design is far better, as used in a number of A500 expansions. In the future I do plan to adapt them to ATX for my own purposes.

The spreadsheet in there appears to be good for v4.

As for the GBA1000. Do not forget the board is based on the Phoneix and several expansions that Braun added to form a new design. The schematics for the most part are nothing new, it's several AMIGAs effectively hashed together and held together by Brauns magic and workarouds including the ide controller. It's the board layout/design that is unique. Brauns schematics are easier to read than the Amiga equivalents, this is the point I was trying to make.

Regarding PCI...A new design in 68060 combined with PLX9054 chip is far superior to anything currently employed on Amiga. Reference the R Czuba designs made for Atari (CT60. CTPCI). Not that I wouldn't like these other possibilities in the future however...


Theres actually a now open-sourced AMIGA 4000 PCI expansion so it wouldn't be that difficult if based around the hardware from that. But thats not the point as this thread is about the GBA1000.

If you want the FPGA route then your better off with the minimig, natami or fpga arcade. This board is about the real hardware :).

For the larger more expensive components yes. The easier to get bits there's little point but we'll see what develops.

Update * Now everyone has seen the shipping options payment will be taken from March 3rd through to the 11th. You will pay $46 Canadian per board to kipper2k via paypal gift or plus $2 for standard protected whose address will be supplied. After the 11th of March no further pre orders will be available.

Paypal address will be supplied by the 3rd of March. When you do so, in the paypal info you need to include the username, site you ordered from and your delivery address. Payment for shipping will be taken once the boards have arrived and you have decided how you want it shipped.*
