i'm under the impression that the video slot is kinda "passive". it does have data lines, but they seem to be duplicates of the parallel and serial port.
otherwise it is all digital and analogue video lines, and audio, (plus power and gound).
nothing i've plugged in to the video slot (dblscan A4000, Opalvision) has shown up in the boards list in early startup.
so as it doesn't show, i wouldn't worry. "this is normal (tm)"
