Blizzard PPC 040 to 060
« on: March 04, 2005, 10:09:48 PM »
Hi there, i may or may not be getting my mitts on an 040 based PPC board for my 1200 soon, and the thing is, as i want to keep my machine in its desktop case, i'll be needing to swap out the 040 for an 060...

i seem to remember a while back reading somewhere that this is possible... just lift out the old cip, a quick jumper re-solder from 5volts to 3.3, and you're laughing. but i've been trawling the web for a few days with no luck. there used to be a site dedicated to the BPPC and overclocking, but that seems to have long gone, so at the moment, i'm stuck for what to do with this...

only other question i have is, can i supply power to the floppy connector on the mainboard for a bit more juice? i have a Bvision just aching to be hooked up too..

i'll be stashing a couple of fans in there to help out with the cooling so i have that covered......

any advice, gratefully recieved :)

and probably just like the rest of you, crates full of related "treasure" for the above XD
