i just converted disc 1 of war of the worlds from a cd to mp3 using windows media player then to 16 bit wav using freemake audio converter then burnt on a disc using nero ..then playing on my 1200 using amigaamp ..computers ..amazing things

Wait... You did whát?!? Why would you convert a cd to mp3 (=losing quality) and then back to cd?

I can understand you want to make a copy of a cd, but then simply make a 1:1 copy of it. MP3 is an ok (but not great) format for many purposes, but as it is a lossy format you always get a lesser quality compared to the original. Because of that, you should never use mp3 as a source again, which in your case you did by making a new audio cd by converting mp3 to 16 bit wav.

What you should have done: rip the original cd to 16 bit wav, burn a new cd using the wav-files. Skip the conversion to mp3. Or make a direct 1:1 copy of the original cd. The end result will be the same in both cases.

Life sucks. Then you die. Then they throw mud in your face. Then you get eaten by worms. Be happy it happens in that order... My Amiga 1200
