A4000 and cable broadband!

Normally, those are PCI-cards. A normal A4000 doesn't have PCI-slots, in which case a Zorro-card like the XSurf or an Ariadne will work perfectly (I use a XSurf in both my A2000 and A3000). Zorro ethernetcards only come in 10 Mbps, but this will not make any difference in daily use.

Broadband on the Miggy works nicely. FTP, chat, Telnetconnections, e-mail are all fully usable and enjoyable. Browsing is hell (imo), though.

Do you not get great responsiveness then, when using a pci network card, or would I be better off using a zorro III nic?

A classic Amiga isn't capable to flood a 10 Mbps card, let alone a 100 Mbps card. Realistic transfer rates are somewhere between 200 and 700 KB/s.

With my A1200 & 3C589 pcmcia card, I get somewhere between 250 and 400 KBps on average.

I doubt a 100 Mbps PCI-card will make a significant difference, but I don't have experience so I can't tell for sure.
