"Among other things, Intel has suggested a topology for the future that would separate the computing unit from the monitor, interface devices and external drives using PCI Express cable connections as a go-between."

"Now, PCIe is coming out of the box. External PCI Express puts from one to eight 2.5 Gbps lanes on a cable for computing-intensive applications (Figure 1). The cabling standard isn't finalized yet (it's currently at version 0.7), and it calls for a cable length of 7 m. Even so, engineers at Molex (www.molex.com/pcie.html) have run the bus as far as 30 m in a demonstration that took place on June 5 at GlobalComm."

The main feature of the future PC motherboard:
CPU, RAM, Northbridge, Wireless USB (for mouse, keyboard, 2D Video) and external PCI Express connectors.
External modules: 3D video card, DVD, Hard Disk etc.

Is it possible to create PowerPC motherboard with similar specification in the future?
