USA CD32 parts & repair
« on: October 16, 2012, 05:16:28 AM »
I recently was lucky enough to buy a fix-up CD32 online in the US. But I've got even less technical skill than Amiga experience.

Due to no power supply, I'm not sure whether this unit is NTSC or PAL yet. It looks like the CD drive assembly has become detached too. And its expansion port cover is missing. No controller on top of all that (closest thing on hand are Genesis ones).

RGB added sometime would be nice for sharper video and get around whatever the color encoding is. I've already got a SCART to component box.

Anything I should know to get started? Obviously I'm aware about having to import games with the system's fate here.

Well I don't own an Amiga p.s. Either way I lack parts or competence to change things like that.

I'm not sure if this unit is NTSC or PAL. Unlike other consoles, CD32 has no apparent external markers of that kind I know about.

This video should help. You need an amiga mouse to do this though.Check it out.http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Cpq3Z1H6h_Q#t=440s

Yeah, and a power supply. Mouse won't do anything without that.
