TakeShad: If you're set on getting a filter, you may want to try a few more places, like Cyberguys, or Amazon. IME, most of the filters out there are privacy filters. I used to see 'contrast-enhancing' filters, something like that might help. Where do you live? 'Cuz you can still get 1084S monitors for not too much here in the States... sometimes...

I recommend taking time to adjust any monitor carefully, take your time. Been using my Toshiba TIMM 20" monitor for oh, maybe 18 years, never had any trouble with eyestrain, etc....

(But, Man, did I get some nasty eyestrain, and dizziness when I played Sega's Nights into Dreams in Widescreen mode on an HD set..... ouch..)

You might even want to talk to an eye doctor.... maybe they make special filters that could help......
