External FDD always clicks... MCP and anticlick don't help.
« on: March 06, 2009, 08:50:16 AM »
Hi everyone,
More an annoyance than anything else... But, I had a 1010 external floppy laying around, that never worked. So, I figured I'd take it apart and see what's up. Well, with a bit of tuner cleaner in the write protect detection switch, it works fine now... Except, the thing insists on clicking when no disk is in the drive. I've tried using MCP's trackdisk prefs, the prog. 'Anticlick' .. It still clicks... Any ideas?

Hey guys, thanks much for the advice.
Yeah, I know I should just keep a disk in the drive, but my WB screen gets so cluttered as it is ...  :-D
