There is only one Amiga 'platform' and they are the ones that run the official Amiga Operating System. The current version being 4.1 update 2. All the rest with absolute respect are alternative operating systems that have the 'feel' of being Amiga only, we all know this.
AROS and MorphOS developers/porters are free to post their own news items, if indeed they are 'very rarely mentioned in a news item' as you say then perhaps they should post more often. Although I feel you are wrong I often log on I see new developments on both of these alternative 'platforms' eg. AMC news from phoenixkonsole and announcements about Icaros Desktop from paolone.
Its all a storm in a tea cup.
I love the view that just because something has the name Amiga attached to it, it is somehow anymore of an amigaOS that the alternatives.
The name really means nothing at all.
