Age of empires is a 'click faster' game.
So is the command & conquer clones.
A 'click faster' game require little thought or strategy,
but low reaction time.
If an enemy unit attacks one of your enemy units,
then its good if you get as many of your units as possible to that position to help the attacked unit.
.. so you try to click on all the units you want there as fast as possible.
This happens 98% of the time in rts games,
or 'click faster' games as I have started to call them.
Those humans that get good in these games
are those with the most finger and mental endurance.
I agree its a fun genre,
but as you say, they are just too easy.
Take Foundation on amiga for example.

It is DEAD EASY.
I try to set the highest difficulty,
but in vain. The computer has no chance unless I give it.
