SD Card mounting
« on: March 13, 2004, 02:03:51 AM »
I used a USB card reader, and an SD card formated with FAT filesystem. XP sees it perfectly, but I can't read it from the Amiga side.

The error messages are the following (repeated many times):

Illegal command status block
Command (00000000 0000B8D8 00000001) failed:
Command status failed: nak timeout (10)

That's all :-?

I've installed the FAT95 filesystem, but nothing improved the situation. Any special settings that I must tweak?

I've already sent the debug and dev list files to the above address.

I managed to read the contents of the card by using an old FAT mounter, but it's a command line one:

"MSD95 -d -u3 -nusbscsi.device"

All I need now is a proper mountlist file for the UMSD volume. Anyone has done this before (I've read that it's done automatically by poseidon, but this doesn't work for me :-( )?

From Chris Hodges reply:

Reformatting the SD media on a PC has helped some people with this problem.
The initial file system on SD disks seems to be partly broken so that FAT95
will not accept it.

It's OK now, I backed-up the data, reformated the SD card, and now is mounted with no problems on the Amiga side, as on the Canon-cam side. :-) :-D

A big thanks to Chris and his kindly support. :pint:
