If you want to use an HD biggenr than 4gb you need OS3.5 or 3.9...naturally,first you have to upgrade your A600...rom3.1,68020cpu and 6mb fast ram.

That`s true but I have an idea : copy on a floppy or to the HD first partition the 3.5-3.9 c:setpatch and devs:romupdates, running the scsi.module and NOAGA parameter.... would this work?! (Just for beeing able to use >4GB disks, not to boot the whole OS)

You could give a try to softkick 3.1, and then run the setpatch (you'll lose precious RAM, 512Kb for the remapped kickstart and some more for the rom-modules, so the trapdoor 1 MB expansion is necessary).

I had my A600 with 3.1 softikicked for quiet a long time, and run the AmiTCP for tcp/ip, grapevine for IRC, and a telnet cient to surf with lynx on a remote UniX machine :-) .

P.S. Not tried the above setpatch trick because I had the stock 30MB HD!!! (now it's useless to me, I have a 4GB HD with full 3.9 OS & real 3.1 ROM chip plus a 030@40 CPU :-D ).
