So maybe the solution is using a slide scanner on my PC and copying the files to my amiga via my network?

Yes, this can be done... I have a Canon (CanoScan D660U) Scanner, which is able to scan negatives/slides. The only downside is that is connected to the PC (USB ports, no Amiga drivers yet :-( ). It`s the only way to have the scanned photos on the Amiga side (a scsi scanner costs much, and doesn`t have the same features as this cheap model).

So I guess my scanner's resolution is 2400dpi. Is it really not good enough?

Mine is 1200dpi without interpolation. It`s enough to have a 35mm film scanned as a normal photo size paper.
