Pulled all cards out + memory then tried rebooting from floppy .....no go
I hope you left the 2 MB chip ram on the motherboard! Else you won't be able to boot or see anything!
Disconnect everything except from the ROM, the CPU card (a 040 one? If it's an accelerator try to unplug all the memory on it, if this is possible -the CSPPC for example needs at least a pair of simms to function- ), and the 2 MB of chip RAM on the motherboard. Then power up the machine, and watch the screen (Is there any shades of gray alternating sequence on the reset/boot?) . Try doing so with the two mouse buttons pressed (for the early boot menu).
