Each specialist is looking for what he's expecting to find ;-). It would be nice to have a GP visit, just to take account of other causes of pain in the differential diagnosis.
This one especially could have started from a site distant to what you were probing: an acute heart ischemia can cause referred pain to the 4th & 5th fingers.
