Thats easy, just monitor the topmost/active screen, check it's type and switch. Make sure that AGA/Indi is active while the tool isn't running (maybe you started a game), and voila...
If I still had all the sources, I could gooble something together based on the old projects:
a) SpringMaus, easier switching between 2 (RTG) monitors
b) nameless screensaver utilizing the gameport and a relais to switch of the monitor-mains (vintage 1993).
