You are correct...this machine is a beast.. there is another small board plugged into a socket on the motherboard..hmmm... any guesses..??

Depends on the socket! ;)

Funny that's an A2091 not a Supra controller.  It doesn't appear to have any Supra cards in it at all, unless perhaps the floppy drive?  I think that sticker is a ruse. ;)

Edit: Red power light and green HD light, probably a Rev. 4-era board.  Still not bad!  :)

I'd drop the A2091 off on Amibay and use the SCSI on the GVP card if it's working

I bet the system originally came with the A2091 and the original owner added the accelerator at a later date, without knowing anything about how to change the drive from one card to the other or the performance benefits that could bring.

But it's always more fun when you have the actual history of the machine.  :)

IMHO as the owner of one, the built-in SCSI on GVP accelerators is a bit slow, however.  So it's possible that a modded A2091 (with SpeedGeek's overclock hack, the latest SCSI chip, etc.) could even outpace it.  Even Ralph Babel mentions on his website (quote) "Note: Yes, SCSI on GVP accelerators typically is slower than on-board transfers on GVP Zorro-II hard cards."

Oh well...wonder what happened to the SupraCard... Apparently putting the emblem on was a thing..found this pic .. :).

Supra controllers were rubbish, anyway.  I have one kicking around in my spare A2000.  Going to replace it with an overclocked A2091, if I ever finish that project.  You interested?  :p
