I've always used Transcend CF cards in my Miggy's. Bought one SanDisk card and had nothing but trouble with it. Tried it again just a couple days ago and it was still acting up, errors when formatting, writing files, etc. They're very well reviewed online, I think I just got a bum card. *hit happens. Meanwhile I have a drawer full of Transcend cards that work fine.
Your mileage may vary.
8GB cards with PFS is no problem. Could probably go much higher, that's just the largest I happen to have used.
