Whitening my Amiga plastics?

Clearly I'm too stupid to understand the 30-or-so pages I've already read of forum posts about whitening Amiga plastics, so I'll just ask:

Would these products work?

Salon Care 40 Volume Clear Developer 32 oz., from Sally Beauty Supply

OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover, 5 lb, from Walmart

Mix 1/2 teaspoonful of the Oxy to every 32 oz. of the developer, put it in a glass jar, dump my keys in it, and stick it in the sun for a day.

Does this sound like it would work, or am I more likely to wind up with mustard gas?  ;-)

Thanks!  Most of these websites list things commonly available in Europe, but if I can't find it at my local Walmart here in North America I'm usually S.O.L., lol.  ;-)  And your experience sounds exactly like what I'd try: playing "tough guy", haha.

Okay, last dumb question, I promise:

So, all done, worked great, thanks for the tips!  I shot some video that I'll probably throw up on youtube, it's mostly of me cussing about not knowing what I'm doing, I wiped up most of the @$^#@ foam off my bathroom floor before hitting record, LOL.  ;-)

I'll attach a couple pictures, color is still off a bit but that's more due to the flash on my camera, the Miggy looks great!  Hopefully the quality won't get chopped too bad here, see if you can spot the one small piece I forgot to do in the second pic!  ;-)
