SCSI Zip drive question

My amiga 500 is equipped with a A590 20MB harddrive and a 100MB SCSI zip drive.
I runs on OS3.1, wich is installed on de 20MB harddrive.
The problem is, it sees the zip drive as a 100mb harddrive and i can't hot swap it, because if i do, it keeps thinking the 1st floppy is loaded.

Is it possible to make the zip drive hot swapable?
And how?

I'm a noob with amiga's, what do you mean with RDB?
How do you install a mount list?
