Amibay issues
« on: April 26, 2013, 01:52:26 AM »
Hey all:
I was just talked into joining Amibay to possible buy an item.
Well... I tried to register and it keeps telling me it sending a e-mail with some code.
Never came, so I left the webmaster two notes explaining and asking for help.

So far, NOTHING!

Did this happen to anyone else?

Is amibay closed?

If I were you I would avoid Amibay at all costs. They are not in the amiga spirit and you better be prepared for whatever you buy on there they will dictate to you what you can and cant do with it, to who and if you sell it , and where u sell it. Its incredible. Incredibly ridiculous.
I didn't really need to use amibay to date, so I didn't.
But a fellow SACC member said I might be able to find some amiga items I wanted.
When I tried to sign up, I read the rules, lots of rules...

But I just buy the once in a while item.

Well guys,
I checked my spam folder and filters...nothing there.
But if I have this much trouble just signing up...
It's making me spider senses tingle (grin)

oh well, I can keep using craigslist, ebay and mostly SACC (which is where I get my best stuff and help)
sometimes on amigadot org too

thx

to all; Thanks for the info...
I finally made it to amibay,
But, I will stay aware of the rules and different systems that exist in the great amiga.

I am only an once in a while buyer, I've only sold amiga stuff to fellow SACC folks face to face. I like that better. The SACC folks have been part on my amiga world for years.

thanks,
M

@SACC-guy

Good to see you on AmiBay, glad we have sorted out that account issue and I am pleased to see my first post going to help out a fellow member =)

@thread

I have to admit,its the first I have read that my efforts are anti-Amigan, although I am sure my wife had called me worse ;)

Oh well I shall rest my modest efforts on those thousands of AmiBayers that use, enjoy and make AmiBay what it is.  I know the rules and guidelines are perhaps too much for some, but remember these rules are made by all the staff - whom are also members - there is over 20 staff members helping to develop AmiBay for the better of its users, we then have another process that see the sites 20 odd VIP's rattify these rules and guidelines as well.

While we are predominately a classifieds trading site - a truly amazing community has grown from, I am quite humbled to be a small part of it.
@Zetro
Yep! All good. I learning my way around the site. Gain knowledge.

One item, what does it mean "paypay gift or pay fee"
I thought amibay didn't have fees?

At this time I don't plan on selling so I have to figure out how to buy.
