When looking for mem, two 1 gig sticks (pc2700) is the ticket.

Replacing the hard drive and cd drive on these emacs is a little tricky.
Several things to watch for... like high voltages. BE CAREful.

Yes, Virgina, there is a ppc version.
The "unofficial" install docs had a url in paragraph five...

I used the "unofficial install" doc myself. It is a great step by step guide.
It included every thing needed. Yes, the link in paragraph five was to unbuntu 9.04 ppc.

It also includes the exact steps to resize the partitions. With screen displays.
Print it out! and follow the steps...it will work.

The eMac will use up to two 1 gig sticks of memory (pc2700)
Quickest, best upgrade on the emac.
