Workbench 3.x will run on any Amiga.
(Even a modified A1000)
3.0 and 3.1 will run fine on a 2000..
I haven't used 3.5/3.9, and they should run, but I'm not sure if they might be sluggish or not (wanting more CPU/RAM depending on your 2000 setup).  I've heard people say both...

But there's no AGA requirement for 3.x.

Many thanks for your answer :-) then i dont need to change kickstart roms?

Pointless yes, but the original poster asked if he could run it, not if it's practical, but doing as I said and you will be left with about 500KB chip left (you can remove a bit to save a lill more), Depending on what you want to do 500KB is plenty or nothing, so ill leave it up to the thread starter to decide if it's somehting he want to do or not. Still nothing I would use in the long run.[/QUOTE

Thanks again for your input, then i know this also :)

No sense trying. It will NOT work! 3.5 & 3.9 require at least an '020 CPU.
I have an A2000 with an '030 that I run 3.5 on. 3.9 runs to slow, and hogs way to much memory. This is a great setup for the A2000/2000HD
As other's have stated, there was no 3.0 KS ever made for the A2000, only 3.1, but that works out fine.

Yes you are right even on my Amiga 4000/30 with 18 MB RAM 3.9 is not so fast. It takes a long time to boot up. Are there something i can do to make it faster? change color or background picture etc?
