It's been a number of years since I did it, but I was also curious to see how much of a difference akiko made. I ran Gloom Deluxe (I think it was this version) on both my a1200, which at the time was a blizz4 50mhz/'030 with 8 meg fast, and my cd32 (14mhz '20) with sx-1 and 8 meg fast. Cant recall which, but I chose what seemed optimum routines for both and while the a1200 setup was still faster it was much closer than Id have expected. I remember thinking that the cd32 setup ran that game about as fast as a 30mhz '30 would have (by judging relative performance). Wish I could give a more accurate recollection, but its been probably 10 years since I did this, so the memory is getting a bit vague. I do however remember being pleasantly surprised with how much of a difference akiko seems to be able to give.

I just played Gloom on my stock Amiga CD32 on my 43 inch Plamsa in full screen, sure it was blocky but the game moves very fast i must say :) cool that they could make it so fast on a stock CD32
