@djwave:

If I'm not mistaken you can switch between 15KHz and 31.5KHz on the fly in the PPC bootmenu by just pressing space on the keyboard. In 31.5 KHz mode, the 1084 monitor will be unable to display the image, so you will have to plug in your VGA monitor and then press on the "Save" button to make 31.5KHz mode the default.

Maybe you have an old version of the firmware which doesnt support changing mode via spacebar.

I just gotta ask if your 1084 is broken or something? There should be absolutely no problem at all reading the the text on the buttons in the bootmenu on a 1084 even if it is interlaced.

How is your 1084 connected to the Amiga and how is your Sony VGA monitor connected to the Amiga?

I do not know how to check the version of the BlizzardPPC firmware.

When using the Sony monitor, is it connected to the RGB-port of the Amiga with a VGA-adapter?

Ok.

As you in the bootmenu arent getting any picture on the sony and you are getting an unreadable picture on the 1084 connected to the Amigas RGB port, it sounds like the bootmenu is displayed in 31.5KHz mode on the RGB port which means you need to have a VGA capable monitor connected there instead of the 1084 to be able to see it.

You dont happen to have a VGA adapter so you could connect the Sony monitor to the RGB port temporarily to change to BlizzardVision output or 15KHz RGB output.

@djwave:

You can download the latest firmware from this link below:
Flash-300399.lha

Make sure you read the "HOW_TO_INSTALL_THE_FLASH.txt" textfile in the archive before you do anything.
