As late as 1995 the U.S. Military was using custom cartridge based C64's for marksmanship trainers.

The simulation center of the War College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas used a bunch of high end A3000's to run AV sims until at least around the same time. I used to check the surplus sales for them. (I understand that some of their stuff was ported to Linux in the last couple of years.)

At least the Amiga OS has never brought a Destroyer to a dead halt in the ocean like a devide by zero error under Windows did a year or two ago. :-o
