Using the version of Mozilla that came with Suse Linux 7.3 I was able to register, get confirmation, and login within five minutes.
One problem, the 'View Avatar' link did not work. (I happened to remember the number I wanted.)
I chose the Tellus theme and that seems to have reduced the size of all lettering to about 5 points.
Otherwise this whole thing's looking good.
