Commodore monitors.... at last count I had 17 of them :)

1701, 1702, 1802, 1902, 1081, 1084, 1084(s) and my 1960
I think I have 8 or more 1084's in storage now

Most work, well they worked before moving cities and placing in storage!

You're in Country NSW iirc?

IIRC My A1200 turned out to have a different drive than most others, so the hack is different. It was easy to figure out the changes required, but it required disassembling the drive to get a soldering iron in the right place, which was a major PITA.

I think I started out using the drive from my a500 until I got round to doing it.

I just haven't had time to even look at it since our 2nd child was born 8 weeks ago :(

Cheers all, I'm still impressed my wife managed to push him out as he was 9 pounds 3 (4.24kg's) and in 8 weeks has already past 7kg's and more than 60cm's tall!

Btw we called him Hugo William.

We didn't even think of Hugo Weaving when we named him, but yes he is awesome! :D

We also didn't know he was going to be so big, he was pretty borderline tho and came close to being removed by c section.

Lol.

Well I got my a504 4MB fast ram board and Amiga to S-Video/Composite adapter today from Kipper2k and I must say the they are great. The S-Video board has awesome PQ and will be very useful for taking my a500/a1200 out and about if I ever get a chance to organise a proper meeting room for the next Adelaide user group. :-p

Omg omg omg, I have the most awesome wife ever!

She just bagged me 2x good condition a500's, a heap of software, 2x external fdd's, several joysticks and something I've been after for ages..... A 1084s-p for $120 from gumtree (in aus that's what we normally pay for just the 1084s)! :)

Az

She has an older sister who's in the uk, nice very smart girl and about 33, coming back to oz next year tho. :D

Cheers everyone for the kind words.

Ps I'd forgotten how bad the flicker was on amiga monitors!! I'm thinking I might go back to my LCD using kippers s-video adaptor! :p

I might see what my c64 looks like on it and if I still can't stand the flicker ill sell my 1081.

I now have my a1200 up and running with the 1081s and one of my two 4.3amp heavy duty PSU's - interestingly it seems much more stable now so i will have to play with turning maprom on again. :)

btw, I think i've gotten used to a fishbowl crt again and games and demos look really good, WB is still flickery and High-res laced is just a disaster but for my main uses im a happy chappy. :)

Geez, been a long time between updates! I had a run of sh!tty luck, got retrenched from HP in July last year and found that the Adelaide Job market had tanked, largely IMO due to a certain very dishonest Polly running around crying debt and deficit and budget emergency for 3 years.

Anyway after being out of work for 7 months and getting only 2 interviews I gave up on Adelaide and moved my little family to Melbourne where I found a job in 5 weeks - just in time too as we'd pretty much run out of money and credit! :o

Anyway we are all settled now and finding our feet! I even have a dedicated desk for my Commodore gear now! :D

My little girl loves DP IV AGA on my a1200:

My latest project involves 10x 512kb EEPROM's that managed to get hold of ... Stay tuned! :)

PS, Im also planning on making a chip-ram config switch for my HxC equipped a500 so I can switch from stock 512kb slow/512kb chip + 4mb fast to 1mb Chip + 4mb Fast ... just for fun. :-)

Hi Epsilon, it's pretty dire and really doesnt help when HP fire close to 200 staff!!!

I just couldnt fathom how someone with my experience couldnt find a job even doing sh!tty desktop support for half my normal wage! And yet in Melbourne I got a contract for $600 a day doing simple Incident Management!

I actually really enjoy living here in Melbourne too, so much on and so many more opportunities, Adelaide is pretty dead by comparison. The worst part for us is having to sell our brilliant Adelaide home knowing full well that we wont be able to afford anything like it anytime soon here.

Re your a600, you should be able to install the LCD in line with the cooling slots prolly to the left of the FDD. :) I promised I'd build a set of HxC extension cables for another Adelaide Amigan but im really not sure how i'll find the time atm, having a 3 year old and 1 year old doesnt leave us with much time to ourselves. :(

Howdy, yeah it has been a while been updates, on the eprom front I've been able to make pretty much any eprom I want including a1200 and a500 Rom's. I've also made dual a500 Rom's with 27c800 eprom's.
