A few weeks ago, I bought a Buffalo external SCSI two slots card reader in a recent trip to Japan.
Now that I am back at home I am testing it and it seems to work fine. I have it connected to the rear SCSI connector of my external SCSI side car with a CD-RW unit. The Buffalo unit has an internal built-in termination, so the SCSI chains ends there.
The question or doubt that I have is about the fact that the reader is detected by the OS, but it doesn't recognizes automatically once a card is inserted, it has to be mounted via System:Tools/Mounter. Then just mounting any of the partitions created in the CF card would mount all partitions.
I formatted and partitioned a 4GB CF card using HDToolBox and cloned my internal microSD (in a SCSI2SD) adapter, and it worked just fine. But even that card with Workbench as a mountable partition needs to be mounted before use.
Is there a way to have the cards to be mounted automatically once inserted in the unit?
Should I prepare all the cards as HDD's to be able to use them with the card reader? What about CF cards that I just want to use as storage?
As a side note: The unit has 2 slots; 1 is a PCMCIA adapter in which I am using an adapter that reads SD and microSD cards, the second slot is a CF card one.
