I guess you have a Mediator system and then I can just say, go for the Voodoo card and forget about anything else! V3 3000 is the best in power and compability, V3 2000 is OK if you can't find a 3000, Voodoo 4500 and 5000 are more powerfull but run hotter, take up more space and are not as compatible as the "lesser" card.

You get 16Mb memory on a Voodoo3 card so there's plenty more than that Virge card... As the later Amiga native gfx card came in 8Mb flavour I think anything less would be rather silly.

Ran SysSpeed the other day and the Voodoo3 2000 card blasted past the CV3D card I also have in the machine (soon going into another system as it's no longer needed).

I belive the Virge card would top out at 1024*768 in 24bit or even sooner... The Voodoo goes to 1600*1200 in 32bit if your monitor can handle it. :)

Yah, ignore the S3 card all together... it's a waste of time and money. If you need a backup card for your Voodoo card then get another Voodoo card. I have a V3 2000 atm so I'm set for now and if I fall over a cheap V3 3000 then I'll have a good backup in the card I already have.

I don't know if I would even install a S3 card if I so got it trown after me for free.
