I understand an error have occured to witch your wife is responsible since she confirmed auction details that wasn't what was intended. The buyer is of no wrongdoing and the price isn't questionably low so you can't expect the buyer to just take this behaviour without rightfull irritation. Honor the bid, take it as the price of learning from your mistakes, and please don't mix in other irrelevant details into the boul about other goodwills, sick/dying mothers/pets or the like. My 2cent.

(BTW, a few moths ago I bought an A1200 with Blizzard1240+SCSI+external scandoubler+PCMCIA NIC+A600 + loads of bits and bobs such as SCSI tower and 20 original "highend" games... all for just 150$. And althoug seller got over 30 other calls in the next 2 days (before I could make the pickup) of bids well over 3 times the asked amount he honored our arranged deal. I actually trew in another 20$ for the seller just cause of the fair conduct.)

@weirdami

It wasn't easy...

1. Get you're currage up to mollest the chassi without knowing the result.

2. Get yourself a little "burn-cutter" (dunnot the name, but it's a glowing hot metal whire), and start tracing out the letters.

3. Take a sharp knife and cut the bulging edges on both sides that comes when plastic melts (in the process accidently remove FDD, HDD, Power markings). Before doing this you realy think everything is lost cause it looks messed up.

4. Spray the hole chassi black with a few layers of paint.

5. Put maskingtape over the hole and turn the hole thing upside down then fill the hole with something clear that will settle stiff (I used a kind of compound glue). Make sure to get out every little airbubble and get the material into the small sharp edges.

6. Sandpaper the backside of the seethrough area to get a frosted look for spreading the light of the glowwhire more evenly over the area.

7. Spray the hole chassi again, this time with a few layers of clearcoat (this will take away some of the roughtness of the topside of the clear area).

8. Done
