Depending on where you live thet black cable with the switch have 110V or 220V in it... I would not be using it just like that.

I don't know how bad the power is after traveling all the way though those cables and trough an extra connector. I've converted a few AT PSU's before and yes there is a chance of electrecuting youself if you're not carefull but with the right precation it's quite safe. You'll then have a shorter powercable which should give you better power and most likely work better for you and more importantly you can mount the power swithc right on the PSU to avoid having high voltage hanging outside in an unsafe matter.

That said the Amiga power connector is about impossible to come by unless you execute an already existing Amiga PSU so the CAN$15 is probably worth it just for that connector. :-D

Well... about the PSU in you're case it might be OK, I would still not do it but ok... I've seen far more dangerous looking AT PSU switches so other's might not be so lucky with the switch.

As for the converter cable I'm sure it'll work but the extremely long power cable together with a "funky" connection in the middle will most definitly have worse power output compared to a shorter power cable without the extra connectors in the middle.
