There may be issues if you connect to the monitor using the composite port, but if you're connecting over the 23pin RGB port it doesn't matter. The Amiga can switch between NTSC and PAL in software if you have a 1MB Agnus or better.

Let me repeat: Any Amiga with a 1MB Agnus or better (e.g., almost all A500s/A2000s, and all newer Amigas) can properly display NTSC or PAL if connected to an RGB monitor (e.g., the 1084) using the 23-pin video port.

Degrader will allow you to switch video modes for machines that don't have Kickstart 3.x.

@ Dr. Chef

Depending on the age of your 1084, it may have a DIN-style port instead of a DB-9 port, so you'll need to look for an older style cable. AmigaKit or Vesalia may be able to help, but considering your proximity to them also take a look at Redmond Cable. They used to do a ton of Amiga cables back in the day and may still have some stock, even though they're catering to industrial clients these days.

@ Dr. Chef

Great, let us know how it goes. I think you'll be very happy with the display quality.
