Of course there was an American A1200. I don't know what sort of bundles Commodore had for these shores, but I believe DPaint 4 AGA was one of the included items. Not sure what else.
The Amiga Technologies Magic Pack was also distributed over here in NTSC.
As to motherboards, probably anything goes.
