I just discovered my A1200 Clockport is indeed on the left side and not the right side. So just because they are on the left side it is 100% guaranteed it will not work, correct? So now what do I do?? Can I take it to some hobby store he removes the pins and locate them on the right side and it should be enough to get it working or do I sell the motherboard and buy another Amiga 1200 motherboard? Or do AmigaKit provide this service for me?
Yeah, unfortunately you won't be able to connect to those pins. What's your motherboard revision? Left-hand pins are more common on earlier boards.
Any of the options you've identified will work. You "just" need to move that connector to the right-hand holes - an easy job if you're skilled with a soldering iron. If you've got a local shop with a skilled electronics soldering guy, that's probably fastest. AmigaKit will have direct Amiga experience and probably know exactly what you're talking about when you ask them. And a new motherboard will certainly have the rights pins if you check carefully before purchasing, but you'll need to wait for one to come up for sale.
EDIT: Hang on, I just noticed there's a rework resistor on one of the left-side pin holes on some boards with right-hand pins. Not sure what that's about, but AmigaKit probably knows. Maybe you don't want the local soldering guy afterall.
