Just set it in S:WHDLoad.prefs
At least, I think NOCACHE is one of the options you can use there.

Drat, I thought for sure it did.

I noticed a few things on Aminet: http://aminet.net/search?query=tooltype
IconPrgs, TTEditor, TTManager35c, and ViewT look promising. If the programs themselves don't iterate through directories, you could probably set up a DOS script that does it for you...
