The largest one listed in the manual is a 1.6GB Micropolis 2217A. Mine came with a 13.6GB Maxtor 91366U4. I haven't tested it, but I *think* it works.

The Big Book's actually wrong in this case (!)
The 50pin connector isn't a SCSI port, but an interface to a TBC.
(I've emailed the maintainer with the correction)

I checked the Amiga Hardware Database (
http://amiga.resource.cx
) page on the PAR as well. They say it maxes out at 8GB.
Have you tried asking at the VTFML (Yahoo-based Toaster mailing list)? I'm sure someone there knows.
