The "default" look of OS4's Workbench is in fact not the default for everything - what you're seeing on the new screen you open is the actual default.

Use the Screem preferences tool to define your new public screen. Give it the palette and GUI settings "Same as Workbench"

You can also set the <> screen setting to this, but some software might not like it (Wordworth, for example).

EDIT: Note that you'll need Update 3 and the Intuition update to be able to do this. Otherwise you'll need to manually set the preferences to ENV:Sys/gui.prefs or ENV:Sys/palette.prefs

It's SYS:Prefs/Screens

The intutition update was the small download that included the original themes - The BeOS lookalike, the Workbench1.3 lookalike, etc.

You can determine if you have it installed or not by the version numbers of the GUI prefs and some libraries, but I don't know what those numbers are.
