A1200 timing problems
« on: March 27, 2003, 10:22:09 PM »
My 1200T is driving me mad

Where do I even begin?
First, the machine can't seem to autoconfig when I have a PowerFlyer ZIV installed. It hangs during initialization; I can't even get to Early Startup Control.
Next, my Delfina Lite isn't recognized in my new ZIV bus. It worked in the Micronik bus.

Everything works without the accelerator, which leads me to suspect timing problems. I bought the system second hand before I towered it up, and there was already some work done on the motherboard. This was in 1997, and I can't recall if the concept of the timing fix existed then? I don't know what a properly fixed board looks like, so I'm not sure what the work is. If it is the timing fix, well, then my problems seem a little more serious. Can anyone offer some insight or detailed info on what the timing fix is supposed to look like on the board? My internet searches haven't been successful.

I've tested every jumper combination on the ZIV bus. Nothing seems to work.

System Specs:
A1200 1d4 w/ 3.1 ROMs
Blizzard 1260 w/ SCSI-IV (48Mb RAM installed)
Picasso II (Rev 1.4 - OLD)
Delfina Lite
X-Surf
PowerFlyer ZIV
OS 3.9.2

Thanks in advance

@ lorddef

The Budgie chip says:
REV 0
391425-01
I think that's a Rev 1. I'll check the capacitors this afternoon. Thanks.

@Yogi27
That's very generous of you. I could use a spare board. I think I'll take you up on that offer. I'll send an email later today.
