I think Scala's editor screen is system friendly - so you can edit presentations on a P96 screen, but playback must be NTSC or PAL.
Hollywood is a modern reimplementation of what Scala is all about. There's even a plugin to read Scala slideshows directly.
Airsoft
sells it. It's fully system friendly. I plan on getting a copy of the OS4 version once it's released.

I think Scala's one of those fussy programs that won't promote. Though I could never get ModePro working too well. ;-)
Scala DOES promote to DblNTSC/DblPAL through the Mode Promotion tickbox in IControl, however.
