The problem with an Emulated Amiga is:
1) You cant stick a Video Toaster in it
2) You cant plug a DSS8+ sound sampler on it
3) You cant use a Genlock and make Videos with it
4) You cant plug real Amiga joysticks easily
5) it doesnt feel the same at all
6) a Real Amiga is both the Hardware and Software
Amigas are NEVER about Software alone! which is why the AmigaONE is NOT an Amiga...........I see it an a WinUAE hardware but on PPC.
An Amiga OS like this on some clone PPC machine will NEVER EVER EVER in 3 Billion years compete with Windows or MacOS....EVER! No Reason whats so ever to make anyone switch................and while some may say "it wasnt intended to compete" then Why bother creating Amiga stuff for such a small community? I guess Amiga Inc wants to have the goal of staying POOR!
While I would be interested in an AmigaONE it will never be an Amiga to me.
Amiga Will DEFINITELY compete and have wayy more chances if they created the HARDWARE and OS themseleves to be fully integrated and familiar with its own chips because the same people made it. Thats an AMIGA! anything less is FAKE!
Thats why WinUAE is fake and will never be a REAL Amiga and neither will an AmigaONE.
I am all for an AmigaONE.....dont get me wrong...i will take whatever I can get if it has the Boing Ball slapped onto it (yes slapped on even) but We Highly prefer a REAL Amiga, otherwise I rather stickk to MacOSX ......LIFE is Short! anyone want to play guessing rounds for another 15 years trying to guess what OS or machine to select?
I have wasted enough years on Amiga. LIFE IS SHORT! give me a REAL Amiga and act fast! then I will see reason to own an Amiga again and not see my years wasted. Amigas were good because they worked! I gaurantee that AmigaONE's will need drivers, and drivers written, and incompatibilty issues with gfx cards and hardware..............and quite simply....More headaches! I already have this with WindowsXP, wich is why I am MacOSX guy now.
This should make sence! hmmmmmmmmmmm I am kinda going off on another topic here hehe..............but it needs to be said.
OS4 on a Custom Chipset Amiga please! a NEW NG PPC Custom Amiga or even X86 custom Amiga..........In bewteen a console and computer!.
