@Stedy

 I have been dying to do the same...or somethng similar, mostly because I want to be able to access the CD32 AudioCD bootup Menu when I play a CD from Workbench and be able to exit at will.maybe someone can create a WHDLoad thingy to install the ROM to be used with  a special CD32 audio CDplayer and CD+G player and even VCD if you have the FMV card...............but of course this would have to be usable on any AGA AMiga at least.

There is sometyhing similar that lets you use the CDTV ROM, or at least the software in it...........but the CDPlayer is non functional, but it letss you use the CDTV screen saver and other stuff. I did it on my A600 once........it was neat

Also just imagine having a CD32 ROM in an A4000 or A1200 with a CDROM and being able to autoboot an Audio CD directly, and having it go to the Audio CD menu in the CD32! The software inside the CD32 ROM should have been included in all 3.1 ROMS as standard, so that when you eventually did upgrade to a CDROM drive.it would autoboot CD32 games and audio CD's................if someone ever creates a 3.5 ROM or 3.9 ROM......please take note of this.maybe make it a 5Mb ROM?  or at least 2mb to fit the stuff (I hate Kickflash crap!)

 This is part of the reason why I consider the CD32 the best Amiga ever made as far as its Amiganess....................trouble free booting of anykind.

ahhhh, I can dream can't I? :-)  although there is no need to dream..........someone out there can do it and needs to...and put the software on Aminet!   someone please!!!!!

:-)

Erm.. the CD-ROM driver in the CD32 won`t work for IDE or SCSI drives.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Oh com on!  you know what I mean..............they can make specific versions for the A600, A500 and A2000, and one for the A1200 and for the A4000, that directs the CD access to the IDE port or SCSI port..............

Amiga Definitely makes it possible!

@Hyperspeed

Yes there was Official CD32 keyboards that were grey eactly like the CD32...basically an A4000 keyboard but just grey..........all the keys are grey except for the SHIFT, RETURN F1,F2....etc were black

 I happen to be the only person in the world that I know of that owns this keyboard :-)

There is a picture in the gallery if you look.its quite small unfortunately and I put some stickers on it and some Korean text letters on the keys (im going to remove them.

anyway just look at the pictures I have submitted and you will see it.  You can view it by going to my PMail screen and just scroll down and show yu the pics I have submitted. If you want a larger clearer version, I can send it to you.

this keyboard even has the CD32 logo on it! Although I dont believe that Commodore created this keyboard, but some other company made it for them.

@Hyperspeed

The thing on the side is indeed that remote control reciever/Modem that was used in a Bank in Canada as a Banking system.it comes with a remote that lets you control the CD Player like a CDTV.....Cool!   it even works with SCALA to change Pages in a presentation!  I have the remote and 2 of these units.

The SX32 Pro is capable of handling up to 128MB of RAM. the bo and intructions allsay 64MB.I guess 128Mb SIMMS didnt exit at the time, so maybe they didnt know..............I have 128MB on my own SX32 and it works great...........I imagine if there was such a thing as 256MB SIMM that it would work as well.

And no The FMV card cannot be used simultaneously with the SX32.......although I am working on findng someone who will build an adaptor.............maybe Jens?  :-)

 What I didn`t expect is the normal rom has all the guff that the A1200 uses, but is useless on the CD32.. scsi.device and the PCMCIA resources.

Doobrey, I don't believe that it's useless to put it in............I love when they do that, because it leaves room for expansion, and as Hyperspeed said.I think the same of the SX32, that it uses these scsi devices in the ROM..........I also believe the PCMCIA will be able to be used one day, no matter what anybody says.

@Hyperspeed

Well besides it being ussed for customers to check their account (I think)  it does havea modem and an infrared reciever.........and I think it was so that employees can listen to music or change the music that was playing..and it's possible the banking software was able to be controlled with the infrared remote......don't really know all the details.....only telling you what I have heard or read about it.....................but I do have this device and its great to be able to control my CD32/SX32 from far away for changing the music on the CD's or for SCALA when doing presentations in public.............I love it. Not sure how to use the Modem on it though.........I believe it's really slow.

Now about that DataFlyer, hmm I didnt know that it was actually an IDE cable converted to SCSI...so it sounds possible to be able to use it then on a CD32/SX32..that would be great.
