if he doesnt work for a company that he claims to represent.. then,well, then his word weights nothing at all. looks like post outsourcing the postal delivery, so that they can claim being innocent as soon as some credit cards go lost on the way.

Christ, are these people ever going to learn?

@Trevor

I have a few questions to ask, which I'm hoping will be answered, but in the Amiga World, I've learned not to hold my breath.

1) Apparently you and your company (A-EON), invested a substantial monetary investment in the X1000. My question is why? That investment would have been much better spent on a partnership with ACube, by cost-reducing the Sam460. Instead, you created a new motherboard, which is superior in many ways, to the Sam460, but costs over 3 times the price and something the majority of us can't afford to spend on a "hobby."  That is *NOT* cost-effective.

For you or for the rest of us.

2) We've had rumors for over a year now for a "cost-effective" netbook for OS4. While I am aware that you are not directly related to this, it's done nothing, but cause an even bigger rift in a dwindling market. Once again, my question is why? It's obvious that this "netbook" would put a major dent in sales of the X1000 and regardless of what you might think, there's no "developers" looking for "high-end, next generation Amigas", 'cos quite frankly, the previous motherboards, the A1000, Micro-A1, Sam440s, Sam460s are still having issues due to OS4, itself. I, once again, go back that the money you've invested in the X1000 would have been better spent cost-reducing a motherboard that already has been established, albeit with bugs.

3) A-Eon is stating that Warp3D drivers will (hopefully) be available before the end of the year. Once again, this is *NOT* cost-effective for you, but not from a monetary standpoint, but from an ethical one. Since the late 90's, the Amiga Community has been continually lied to, been given promises that weren't kept and many (myself included) have been out-right ripped off. If you don't have the drivers ready, *DON'T* give us a "when it's done" speech. Did you not learn anything from the Community? Didn't you learn this from 3D Realms? Don't make promises you can't keep! When the Radeon 3D drivers are completed, *THEN* tell us about it.

4) A-Eon has funded development of Libre Office. Once again, my question is why? That money would have been better spent porting WINE to AOS4, considering you gain access to applications that use the Windows API. That way, we would have had access to applications, games, etc. instead of "just" Libre Office. I could give you a list of applications that currently work in WINE on Linux, but it's pointless, 'cos you've already invested money in something the Community once again *HOPES* will get completed. Again, it feels as a waste of investment capital.

5) Finally, and I mean this with the utmost respect, but GET YOURSELF A PUBLIC RELATIONS LIASON!!!!!! You say one thing, Steven Solie says something else and the Frieden brothers grew smart and say nothing at all. Find someone that's a public speaker. One whose ready for the insipid questions they'll be asked and are prepared to give positive rebuttals, 'cos quite frankly, none of us really give a sh!t anymore.

I don't know how many times I've told you people this, even once trying to unite the Community, but you *NEVER* listen to us. You people always seem to blow off any requests we have. We ask for a cheaper, Amiga alternative and we get the X1000. When OS4 was first released, people were clamoring for a decent web browser. It took you a decade and a bounty. (Seriously? A bounty? How can you expect people to want to purchase your product, when basic, every-day use isn't even provided by the OS, itself?)

We, the Community, are your *ONLY* source of income, but it seems that you just don't want our money. You don't want us to use your products. You don't want our (ridiculously) zealous support.

I really don't want you guys to fail. I really don't, but it's time to sh!t or get off the pot.

Feel free to PM me, if you'd like assistance in your public image and relations. You need it.

Regards
